Running Ourselves
The Marquette Unitarian Universalist Congregation is an open community, administered using the democratic process. We are a fair share member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.
Preparing for Sunday Services: Numerous chores need to be done on Sunday both before and following the service. As a lay-led, mostly volunteer organization, the Congregation depends on members and friends giving their time to accomplish these chores. Click here to see a description of the Sunday chores that need to be done. To assist with some of these chores, you can sign up on the sign-up sheet on the kitchen door at the meeting house or e-mail Nancy Sullivan.
Use of MUUC Meeting House: If you are interested in using our building for an event, we encourage you to read our building use policy and contact our Building Use Coordinator if you have questions.
MUUC Governance and Financial Documents: As we grow as a community we periodically evaluate our internal structure and the way we choose to operate among ourselves. If you are interested, you can find a copy of current Congregational bylaws, recent Board of Trustees Meeting minutes, recent congregational meeting minutes, a charter for our non-operational funds (building, major repairs, endowment), copies of financial reports, and a list of contacts relating to a variety of governance issues. At its annual meeting in 2012, the Congregation approved a position paper prepared by the MUUC Social Action Committee.
Policies on Disruptive Behavior and Sexual Offenders: The Congregation has established a policy for dealing with behaviors that have the potential for disrupting the activities of our community. The Congregation also has a policy for integrating into the congregation a person convicted of a sexual offense.
Reimbursable Expenses: If you have a reimbursable expense, please fill out the Expense Reimbursement Form and submit it to the Treasurer.
Gift Acceptance Policy: The Board of Trustees has approved a policy for accepting gifts offered to the Congregation. If you are considering gifting to the Congregation, please review this Gift Acceptance Policy. Forms for making gifts are included in this document.
