“Resisting White Supremacy: Courage in Healthy Transitions”
Sunday, May 7 @ 11am
Bring your truths, your stories, your courageous spirituality, your questions for us to ponder, your singing voices, and your best listening skills this Sunday; as we face white privilege and value the worth and dignity of others and affirm and promote justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.
It will be a Sunday like no other, because we will hold each other in honesty – our insights and insensitivities. As we move towards an understanding of and an end to institutionalized racism, we will decide on what commitment we will make – personally and congregation-wide.
White folks have work to do. Therefore, for part of the service, a comfortable, physical space will be available for people of color and indigenous people who are present so they may be with others who have walked a more similar path in our congregation and/or the larger society. We will bring everyone together at the end, including the children and youth.
Let us join together as we struggle to build beloved community within our congregation, the UUA, and beyond!
