Walking With Adams' Five Smooth Stones Lay Minister, Paul Mitchell Rev. James Luther Adams was a leading Unitarian Universalist Theologian in the mid 20th century. Invoking the 1 Samuel account of the David and Goliath story, he titled his succinct definition of religious liberalism, Five Smooth Stones of Religious Liberalism. Anne Stark Pronouns are a powerful form of agency for individuals defining their own identity. Gender identity is a fluid and open process for many, and some feel that traditional pronoun use doesn’t fit with their own gender identities. Transgender, genderqueer, and other gender-variant people may choose different pronouns for themselves than those in traditional use.
