…MAJOR WINTER STORM EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND… Heavy snow is expected to fall across western and central Upper Michigan Saturday night into Sunday, with accumulations of more than 10 inches possible where the heaviest snow falls. Over eastern Upper Michigan, a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected, possibly becoming all rain for a brief period late Saturday night. On Sunday, northwest winds may gust to 40 to 50 mph leading to widespread blowing snow and whiteout conditions in exposed areas. Travel will become very difficult if not impossible Saturday night through Sunday night. Stay tuned to future forecasts for additional details as that time period approaches.
