Bed and Breakfast for the Sled Dog Races (February 19-21, 2010)

Come, come, whoever you are.

Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving...

Here's a wonderful Bed 'n' Breakfast opportunity for those interested in Sled Dog Races:

Members of the Marquette Unitarian Universalist Congregation are opening their homes to UU members and friends from other parts of the world for the opportunity to take in the UP200 and/or Midnight Run sled dog races, February 19-21, 2010. Cost: $50/night for couple or single, $5/night for each additional person. All B&B's on a first-come, first-serve basis. Many hotels, inns, and motels are already filled up.

Participating families live in a variety of places in the Marquette area of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In addition to the sled dog races, the area provides opportunity for many wintertime activities including downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and nature-watching. Some participating homes can accommodate families with children and/or pets.

The UP200 is a qualifying race for the Iditarod, and you can find more information at http://www.up200.org/index.php. It's an exciting start as the mushers and their dogs head out to the quiet, snow-blanketed trails from the cheering fans in downtown Marquette.

See below for further activities and events.
